WHAT IS IT?
REMIDA Milano is a centre for the creative reuse of industrial waste materials, a place for research and experimentation with deconstructed materials as educational, cultural and relational mediators.

It is based on the idea that what is considered imperfect or unusable can instead convey ethical value, stimulate new reflections and become an educational resource. In this way, waste transcends its label as rubbish to become a resource.

WHAT TO DO?
After an initial welcoming moment, the educators encourage the children's play process and set up the space in a functional manner for the exploration of materials.
Each family has the opportunity to move freely in the space according to the children's time and interests.
Rubbers, coloured fabrics, plastics and sensory areas are available to foster the development of cognitive, motor and creative skills.
REMIDA Milano offers a variety of materials recovered from factories, carefully selected and set up to engage children aged 12 months to 5 years.
At REMIDA Milano, the play experience involves adults and children together, and takes place without the use of shoes!

The history of REMIDA | Reggio Emilia
REMIDA, established in Reggio Emilia in 1996, is a project run by the Reggio Emilia Municipal Authority for Schools and Nurseries, the Reggio Children Foundation and Iren, and managed by the Reggio Children Foundation – Loris Malaguzzi Centre. The REMIDA network grew out of this initiative and now comprises 11 centres worldwide, with REMIDA Milan having been part of it since 2010.

“Sono migliaia i bambini che nel corso di questi anni hanno riso, giocato, scoperto e imparato con le mostre del MUBA, costruendo una storia corale. A raccontarla oggi sono le persone che questo museo lo hanno immaginato, alimentato, visto nascere, sostenuto e studiato, facendolo crescere tutti insieme.”
